On Jun. 4, the Xinhua News Agency was authorized to promulgate the Regulations on Grain Distribution, which is issued by the Order No. 407 of the State Council on May 26, 2004. The new regulation shall enter into effect as of the date of promulgation and the Regulations on Grain Procurement issued on Jun.6, 1998 and the Penalty Provisions for Illegal Activities in Grain Trade issued on Aug. 5, 1998 will simultaneously be repealed.
